LOCATION : Media City Salford Hybrid

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE : 28100 – 35000 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience.

Shift working will be required including weekends and bank holidays according to rota .

This includes on average 1×4 0700am starts and 1×4 2200pm finishes approximately 1 in 4 weekends as well as some bank holiday working. This is a 365 role and some Christmas and New Year working is also required. This role is based at Media City Salford and attendance at the office is expected on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

JOB PURPOSE

Join the BBC Homepage team to help curate digital content seen by millions. As an Assistant Content Producer youll play a key role in selecting and presenting the best of BBC output ensuring relevance and quality for diverse audiences.

YOUR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

  • Curate the content of the BBC including news sport and entertainment
  • Select compelling imagery and write promotional copy.
  • Ensure content meets editorial technical and accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and curate time-sensitive content.
  • Participate in planning and organisational projects under direction of senior producers.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • ESSENTIAL CRITERIA : Knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines or willingness to learn.
  • Experience creating high-quality digital curations.
  • Strong writing and picture editing skills.
  • Ability to use audience data to inform editorial decisions.
  • Proficiency in IT and digital production tools.
  • DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED : Experience working in a digital media environment.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with BBC content platforms like iPlayer and Sounds
