Food and TTC fare will be provided and all actors will receive a copy of the film and tickets to the world premiere at the Inside Out Festival.

STORYLINE:
Afraid of what the world will think of their true selves Aria steels themselves for interactions with their family, friends and the public after trying on a binder for the first time.

CASTING COMMENTS:
Inside Out is a not-for-profit registered charity that exists to challenge attitudes and change lives through the promotion, production and exhibition of film made by and about lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) people of all ages, races and abilities. For nearly three decades, Inside Out has brought Toronto’s LGBT community together in celebration of the best queer film from Canada and around the world. Through our annual Festivals in Toronto and Ottawa, our filmmaker initiatives, our youth engagement and our year-round events and screenings, Inside Out is engaged every day in challenging attitudes and changing lives. Short Film Mentorship Program A professional training program for LGBTQ2SAI++ emerging filmmakers of all ages who are looking to make their first short films. November 4th kicked off the recently revamped Inside Out Short Film Lab, in partnership with the Alliance of South Asian AIDS Prevention. 8 South Asian and Indo Caribbean emerging filmmakers will receive over $20k of In Kind Support from community partners to make a short documentary or narrative film.

CASTING:

ARIA/KRISHNA – LEAD ROLE – TRANSGENDER OR NON-BINARY – 18-22 YRS OLD
*Currently only seeking actors who identify with the Queer experience*
Assigned female at birth, a brown transgender or non-binary person. Embracing a physical presentation that aligns with them more than the gender they were assigned at birth they worry they won’t be accepted.
Required for both days.
An honorarium of $50.00 will be provided.

SKYLER – PRINCIPAL ROLE – TRANSWOMAN – 20-30 YRS OLD
*Currently only seeking actors who identify with the Queer experience*
Transwoman, Krishna’s best friend, and support system. Having gone through transition herself she encourages him along the journey while keeping a positive and energetic attitude.
Required for both days.
An honorarium of $50.00 will be provided.

MOM – PRINCIPAL ROLE – FEMALE – 40-50 YRS OLD
*Currently only seeking actors who identify with the Queer experience*
Queer brown woman. A stay at home mom who is supportive of her child Aria/Krishna even though she doesn’t completely understand what he is going through. Loves Aria/Krishna no matter what.
Required for 1 day.
An honorarium of $20.00 will be provided.

CASHIER – ACTOR ROLE – 18-30 YRS OLD
*Currently only seeking actors who identify with the Queer experience*
Queer person, working at coffee shop as a barista. Very friendly, energetic and approachable. Quite knowledgeable on menu items. They give Aria/Krishna suggestion on a drink.
Required for 1 day.
An honorarium of $20.00 will be provided.

RILEY – ACTOR ROLE – 18-50 YRS OLD
*Currently only seeking actors who identify with the Queer experience*
Queer person, 18+, NON-BINARY/FEMALE/MALE/PERSON. Customer at coffee shop, A kind and caring person, notices Aria/Krishna forgetting scarf and returns it to him. An honorarium of $20.00 will be provided.
Required for 1 day.

LUIS – ACTOR ROLE – MALE – 18-25 YRS OLD
18-25, a straight presenting Hispanic masculine male. Average height and build walks down the street with swagger and shoots Aria/Krishna a compliment. An honorarium of $20.00 will be provided.
