CASTING COMMENTS:
• We can accept union & non-union actors though our student agreement with ACTRA.
• This is a non-paying student film and no permit is required.
• Actors will receive a copy of the finished film for their demo reel.
• If outside GTA, transportation will be provided.

STORYLINE:
“Honey!” is a story of the effects of fame on a friendship. When Honey’s acting career takes off and he finds himself in the centre of attention, what happens to his close friend Dani? The story is told from the perspective of Dani, as she reflects on the time when she watched her friend lose himself.

CASTING:

HONEY – LEAD ROLE – MALE – APPX. 24 YRS OLD – CAUCASIAN (SLAVIC/RUSSIAN)
To play 24. Preferably SLAVIC/ RUSSIAN descent. Caucasian. Outgoing and eccentric. Honey was bullied as a child for being different. He swore to himself to become something great and so he did. He became the biggest TV show star in 1970s Canada. When he is suddenly in the middle of the attention it turns out to be quite overwhelming. In the midst of all the glitz and glamour his closest friend/more than friend Dani, the only real thing in his life, is slipping away.

DANI – LEAD ROLE – FEMALE – APPX. 25 YRS OLD – ANY RACE
To play 25. Open ethnicity. Honest, warm and observant. Dani has always lived her life accepting who she is and takes pride in being grateful of the things she already has. She is passionate about the environment. Her close friend/more than friend Honey has gained overnight success and she watches as he loses himself into an industry/world that she is most against. She tries to get him out and to snap him back to reality.

YOUNG HONEY – PRINCIPAL ROLE – MALE – APPX. 13 YRS OLD – CAUCASIAN (SLAVIC/RUSSIAN)
To play 13. Preferably SLAVIC/ RUSSIAN descent or ability to do RUSSIAN ACCENT. Caucasian. Proud, hot headed but sensitive. He has had enough of his friend Keith’s harsh comments and stands up to him. Best friends with Dani. Scene has physical contact such as shoving a pushing as well as curse words. Honey attempts to shove dollar bill into Keith’s mouth.

To play 14. Open ethnicity. Honest, kind and observant. Best friends with Honey, she defends him when he is bullied and tries to cheer him up.

KEITH – ACTOR ROLE – MALE – APPX. 13 YRS OLD – CAUCASIAN
To play 13. Caucasian. Big ego, rude and argumentative. He is jealous of Honey because he gets attention from girls, parents and teachers.
Bullies Honey. Scene has physical contact such as shoving a pushing as well as curse words. Honey attempts to shove dollar bill into Keith’s mouth.
