Job Location: For this role, we are open to remote work and can hire anywhere in Canada
Ceridian is looking for a talented and proficient video editor to join our growing video team. In this role you will work on both internal and external projects that have a global reach, creating videos that will impact the stories we tell as a company.
Responsibilities:
- Interpreting project briefs, scripts, and storyboards to ensure that concepts and messaging are executed effectively
- Organizing and assembling individual elements––raw camera footage, dialogue, music, and graphics
- Constructing fluid narratives from multiple interviews in accordance with project objectives
- Ensuring brand visual and tone standards are adhered to
- Participating in creative sessions to brainstorm new content
- Staying abreast of new post-production technologies and sharing knowledge with the team
- Assisting with managing a library of digital content
- Adhering to established workflows, and bringing new ideas to streamline internal processes to the table
- Balancing multiple projects with the support of your team
- Occasionally working with external vendors to accomplish projects through various stages of production
- Working hand in hand with the video team and other marketers to increase brand awareness
- Deliver on time, every time
Qualifications:
- 2 years previous experience working as a video editor––corporate, broadcast, or agency experience a plus
- A degree and/or equivalent working experience in video editing, digital content creation, and post-production techniques
- Experience with non-linear editing, including a strong understanding of Adobe Creative
- You have a passion for crafting stories and experience working in a variety of video styles––talking heads, narrative, testimonials, promos, motion graphics, etc.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Comfortable with cloud-based workflows, and previous experience using Adobe Teams projects a plus
- Understand different codecs and file types

- You have an artistic eye for a good visual composition––experience shooting videos a plus
- Demonstrate a keen attention to detail especially when managing multiple video projects, versioning, and receiving feedback from project owners
- Ability to process constructive feedback in a team setting to create the best possible product
- A willingness to learn new video platforms and production tools such as YouTube,
- Fluid with both Mac and Windows platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Comfortable working remotely, with occasional travel depending on project requirements
- You will be asked to include 5 samples of your work, both live-action and animation/motion graphics––full pieces and a description of your role in that video’s production
