Full Job Description

YOU: A motivated and knowledgeable post production assistant with Premiere and Creative Cloud experience, AVID experience a plus.

US: a Hollywood based post-production facility specializing in FINISHING, founded in 1998. We specialize in post supervising and finishing (color, mix, online, mastering, delivery, NOT CREATIVE) of movie trailers and other motion picture marketing (social media, television, and special promos) for first-run major studio films.

About The Position:

**THIS IS A TECHNICAL JOB–NOT CREATIVE–WE DO FINISHING / PICTURE ONLINE ONLY**

Overview of Key Responsibilities:

  • Data I/O, ingest, formatting of offline cuts, EDL and .aaf generation.
  • Set up Clearview Flex (sohonet) and SourceConnect Sessions for remote approvals with mix partner.
  • Route signals using black magic Videohub
  • Communicate status of process and Data I/O postings via Slack and Email.
  • Assist in the Finishing & Delivery of Theatrical, Television and Social media marketing projects (Data I/O, mastering, QC, et al)
  • Create shot lists of offline creative material in Microsoft Excel
  • Overcutting dailies for EDL creation or export (Typically AVID)

We seek a post production assistant with a firm understanding of Adobe Premiere (AVID a plus!) to help with edit assist tasks on key campaigns.

Your typical duties will include formatting offlines, Data I/O, ingest, EDL/.AAF creation, and Excel spreadsheet generation for cut lists/VFX/order lists as part of a hard working and supportive team.

Security is of utmost importance. Candidate will be working with top tier content and must adhere to NDA and Social Media policies.

You must have a keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. We are the last eyes that see files before the general public. This is a job that requires a sharp eye for quality and highly organized workflow.

Knowledge of codecs and specs is important. (bitrates, resolutions, frame rates, etc)

Any professional experience with one or more of the following programs: AVID, After Effects, Flame or ProTools; is a big plus to your application.

Clear and concise communication skills are essential in our team. Our primary means of communication is SLACK and E-mail/Phone. Quality control and attention to detail in your work is essential.

During peak work periods, overtime and double-time will be required. You must have flexibility in your personal schedule to work long evenings on short notice. Occasional weekend work may be required.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in film, communications, or broadcasting preferred

Experience

1-2 years as an Premiere/AVID or Flame post-production assistant working in a small studio or post production facility

Benefits:

We pay overtime and double-time, paid holidays, and competitive benefits after a 3 month probationary period; including top tier PPO Health and Dental Insurance, Retirement 401K paid by the company, 10 paid vacation days per year (accrued) and paid sick days. Salary will be commiserate with skills and experience.
