Full Job Description

Mikooka Productions is an Israeli production company that was founded in 2008 as a home for the films and videos of director and producer Mika Orr. In 2019 the company opened its NYC branch, focusing on two long term and unique projects. These projects are both international by nature. They deal with burning social issues and seek to give a voice to underrepresented communities as well as discuss matters of gender.

  • A feature-length documentary film following the lives of three displaced children around the world. The story will be told solely from the childrens perspectives and is shot over the span of more than two years in Africa, Colombia and Europe;
  • A documentary/animation comedy web series about the human effort to define normal, being produced in collaboration with ARTE, a French/German television channel, and Kan, the Israeli public broadcaster.

Location: This is a full time position and possibly remote.

Compensation Range: $60,000-$70,000

Duties include:
Financial management and production accounting, including: Manage the budget, track expenses, prepare monthly budget reports, facilitate payroll and invoices for crew, purchase supplies, maintain regular ongoing bookkeeping using Quickbooks and coordinate with the companys accountants and bookkeepers.

Crew: help locate crew members in different countries, coordinate talent releases and crew deal memos, onboard new crew members with users/permissions, maintain contact lists and sync users.

Manage logistics and operations, including: Coordinate international teams and schedules, coordinate travel of local teams abroad, manage companys websites, and software services like Asana, G-Suite and Miro, maintain equipment inventory, backup footage in cloud service.

Required skills:
Experience with Quickbooks.
Experience with managing budgets.
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment – meet tight deadlines while delivering high quality services;
Scheduling flexibility – be willing to work evenings, early mornings, and occasionally weekends;
Motivated self starter who is able to work both independently and in a team environment; and

Preferably: Spanish as a second language, experience in a post-production environment, archival production.

Must be based in NYC.
