The Role
Thinkingbox is in search for a rockstar intermediate digital producer to help execute creative ideas for clients. Working alongside our internal creative, strategy and post production teams to external vendors (production companies, heads of departments, partners and freelance resources) you will be instrumental in helping design, plan, organize, and execute our broadcast commercials. We’re looking for a seasoned pro with a min four years’ experience, who has strong professional leadership skills and hands-on experience in broadcast, social, photo , digital and bonus points for experiential. You’re able to work in a team environment, manage expectations and find creative solutions to problems while adhering to a budget and tight deadlines. The ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented, strategically-minded, able to analyze opportunities, foresee challenges, and handle multiple projects concurrently. We are looking for a producer who is able to own projects in an inclusive-yet-decisive way, with respect for creative. You need to hit the ground running and have a genuine passion for working in a busy studio. Extra extra points for the ability to travel and a love of dogs helps too, we’ve got a pets positive workspace policy.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work alongside creative teams to execute the creative concept by providing ideas, production solutions and options, relevant references, etc.
- Evaluate initial creative concepts and define deliverables.
- Prepare actual budgets and workback schedules for production.
- Evaluate whether a project can be completed using internal resources or requires external partners.
- Research and recommend top-tier vendors (production companies, directors, key partners and freelance resources) and negotiate fees/rates.
- Hire and contract suppliers.
- Head up production day-to-day, communicate with suppliers/agency teams/clients/ vendors.
- Oversee key steps/phases during project development (pre-production, production, and sometimes post-production and delivery).
- Work alongside creative, strategic and accounts teams and suppliers to identify and mitigate risks to projects/ proactively problem solve.
- Liaise with business affairs/legal teams to review and discuss creative concepts, supplier contracts and talent.
- Maintain directory of production companies and key contacts.
- Keep Head of Production and EP informed of key developments on projects in an ongoing manner.
What You’ll Bring
- 3-4 years of experience in a production role at a creative agency, media agency or production company in video production.
- Experience in the development of content (film, print, photography, etc.), digital (web, mobile, social, etc.) and experiential (events, activation, etc.) projects.
- Fluent in English (both oral and written).
- Strong knowledge of top tier suppliers/good relationships with key contacts in North America and negotiation skills (experience working with cost consultants).
- Strong technical knowledge of production.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian talent union requirements/legal considerations.
- Strong knowledge of line production and on set safety
