WPTZ/WNNE, the NBC affiliate in South Burlington, VT has an opening for a part-time Broadcast Production Assistant. We are looking for a team player who understands the flexible schedule that the broadcast industry requires to join our production crew. You will be responsible for operating cameras, teleprompter, audio-board, graphics and video equipment related to live broadcasts and post-production. You will work with our production team to guarantee a successful broadcast is produced. You will report to the Studio Operations Manager.ResponsibilitiesOperate cameras and studio floor directingMove and handle props and sets during productionsConstruction, maintenance, installation and operation of props, cameras, prompters, sets and other production equipmentLighting and script preparation for newscastsMaintain appearance of studios including cleaning of set and floorsUnderstand and maintain lighting grid and control boardClimb ladders to change light bulbs and adjust fixtures on the gridEdit syndicated promos for air and web content using Adobe PremiereAssist the directorsIn-person attendance is requiredRequirementsWorking knowledge of television newscast equipment and softwareVideography experience helpfulEditing experience is necessaryCan deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast productionRelated military experience will be consideredValue in ActionAt Hearst Television we tell stories every day. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
