The Videographer/Content Creator has the option to work from the TTCP’s home office in Duluth, Minnesota or remotely in accordance with the University of Minnesota’s Work. With Flexibility guidelines. This position involves travel to filming locations primarily in Minnesota with occasional travel outside the state. The Videographer/Content Creator will design and create visual content using a combination of forms such as photography, animations, video and interactive content to communicate themes and messages for training content, communication materials and social media. May use graphic software, web-based graphics or other design tools to create accurate finished products. Helps maintain brand identity, design standards, and policies for a unit, college or the University. May be responsible for the design and development of engaging user experiences for a variety of interactions. Provides technical support for training events and conferences as needed. Job Duties: 60% Designs, Creates and Edits Visual Content (Video and Photography) Work with the TTCP’s technology team and leadership to conceptualize, plan, coordinate and complete video, photography and multimedia projects that complement the TTCP’s training programs and curriculum for use on social media, websites, in presentations, at training events and conferences, and for special projects. Interacts directly with staff, training participants, tribal partners, and community organizations and stakeholders to plan and schedule video and photo shoots. Explores creative and technical options as it relates to video projects, schedules production activity, coordinates lighting and audio and provides technical direction on video shoots and projects within the TTCP Plans and performs video post-production tasks, which includes reviewing video footage, making and collaborating on editorial decisions, producing rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction and final editing Applies appropriate computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with production concepts Help support video and photography needs of the TTCP and stakeholders for web and social media Assists in creating content resource for asynchronous training curriculum, website pages, individual tribal portals, and resources 15% Contributes to the TTCP’s technology team to provide training support Travels as needed to assist staff and community trainers with training presentation set up for in-person, online, and hybrid training events Assists with technology support at meetings and conferences 10% Video and Photography Asset Management Maintains, repairs and troubleshoots TTCP video and photography equipment procured by the TTCP’s Technology Lead Archives video footage and photographic images in an accessible and organized format Works with the Technology Lead to inventory and order supplies to ensure adequate equipment is available Schedules video and photo shoots, sets up and operates cameras, lighting equipment, microphones and other audio equipment Monitors and adjusts equipment as necessary during recording/taping sessions Collaborates with team members to meet strategic marketing and communications priorities 10% Maintains TTCP, College, and University Digital Brand Identity and Compliance with Digital Accessibility Guidelines Maintains awareness of and compliance with brand standards Consults with local artists, graphic designers, managing editor and digital content strategist to make video products available in a variety of formats in adherence with ADA digital accessibility requirements Ensures that transcribing and captioning meet accessibility standards 5% Manages video and photography project requests and coordinates vendor assignments Manages multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail Works with outside video production companies if a project requires outside vendor assistance Qualifications Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree, preferably in communications, journalism, marketing, art, or a related field, plus at least four years of experience. Experience with photo and video equipment Experience with video production software Ability to travel throughout Minnesota and out of state as necessary to conduct video shoots and to provide technical support for meetings, training events, and conferences Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience collaborating with editorial, marketing and other impacted teams to deliver outcomes, capture ideas, and understand needs Knowledge of video production principles, practices, techniques, technology, and standards, well as shot composition Skilled at creative storytelling and use of innovative filming and editing techniques Proficient in planning, researching, scripting, blocking, organizing, storyboarding, editing, lighting and staging video production Ability to stay current on new video technologies Experience with drone operation and aerial photography Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to balance multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines Ability to provide outstanding customer service Ability to be flexible and to work as part of a team Ability to work in a culturally responsive manner with American Indian Tribal communities Experience in podcast production is a plus About the Department Aabinoojiiyag-Wakhanheza Un Thantanhanpi – “For All the Children” Sacred Being: Tribal Training and Certification Partnership (TTCP) is a training and technical assistance center in partnership with the Center for Regional and Tribal Child Welfare Studies at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
