This role is based within the Corporate Systems department, which sits in the Technology and Media Operations division. In this team there are 3 primary disciplines: project management, product management & business analysis. This team delivers technology projects, continuous improvement & technical support for a variety of systems & applications used by employees across the BBC group.

Interview process

Key Responsibilities And Impact

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, confirm priorities, and build strong relationships to enhance domain knowledge and team collaboration.
  • Accurately capture and articulate user and business requirements (functional, non‑functional, technical) ensuring they are valid, traceable, and support solution delivery.
  • Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to ensure clarity and alignment on proposed changes and their rationale.
  • Provide strategic input and evaluate technical options using research and insights to inform short‑ and long‑term business decisions.
  • Maintain knowledge of existing processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Identify business risks and impacts, develop mitigation plans, and support smooth transitions through handovers and early life support.
  • Define and map business benefits, establish performance measures, and track progress against targets to demonstrate value.
  • Lead discovery activities to establish objectives, scope, risks, benefits, and impacts, enabling accurate sizing and prioritisation of programmes, projects, or BAU initiatives.
  • Identify, build, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and disciplines to ensure alignment with business needs and strategic goals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Commercial focus, proven influencing, negotiation and conflict management skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Considerable experience gained within a media or similar multi‑national organisation.
  • Experience in leading change initiatives at programme level.
  • Accurately capture, analyse, and validate business requirements (functional, non‑functional, technical, and general), ensuring they are valid, traceable, and contribute to business cases and project/solution delivery.
  • Identify and advise on strategic options and technical solutions, leveraging research and domain knowledge to inform business decisions, uncover opportunities for improvement, and support long‑term planning.
  • Define and track business benefits, establish performance measures, and ensure value delivery through benefits mapping and progress reporting.
