Hirsch’s is South Africa’s leading home appliance and electronics retailer, renowned for delivering top-quality products and excellent customer service. We are looking for a dynamic Social Media Strategist / Videographer to join our growing marketing team.

This role requires someone who is both strategically minded and creatively skilled — able to craft engaging campaigns, produce compelling video content, and grow Hirsch’s digital footprint.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a social media strategy aligned with Hirsch’s retail and marketing goals.

• Conceptualize, film, and edit videos for promotions, product launches, in-store events, and customer engagement.

• Manage content calendars across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

• Drive engagement and brand awareness through innovative campaigns.

• Monitor analytics and report on performance to optimize strategies.

• Stay updated on social media trends, retail promotions, and consumer behaviour.

• Collaborate with in-store teams, suppliers, and the marketing department to ensure content reflects Hirsch’s values and customer focus.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Social Media Manager / Strategist and Videographer.

• Strong video shooting and editing skills (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar).

• Experience in retail marketing or consumer brands will be advantageous.

• Creative storytelling ability with a keen eye for visuals.

• Excellent understanding of social media algorithms, trends, and analytics.

• Ability to juggle multiple campaigns in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Media, Communications, Film, or related field (preferred).

• 2–3 years of experience in social media and videography (portfolio required).
