We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile Staff Data Analyst to join our EMEA Data & Analytics team supporting HBOMax Streaming. This role blends responsibilities across data analytics and data engineering—ideal for someone who can work across both stakeholder-facing insights and technical data pipeline development. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across business and product teams to understand their needs, translate them into data solutions and provide actionable insights that shape strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with stakeholders across marketing, product, content and operations to gather, clarify and translate business needs into technical data specifications

  • Build and maintain robust dashboards, automated reports and reusable data models using tools such as Looker or Tableau to power self-service analytics and visualisation

  • Design and implement scalable data models that support advanced analytics, customer behaviour analysis, product performance tracking and key KPIs

  • Lead automation efforts and collaborate with data engineers and platform teams to streamline data ingestion, transformation, governance and validation processes

  • Work with large-scale datasets using SQL or Python ensuring accuracy, performance and scalability

  • Communicate complex analytical findings in a clear and compelling way to non-technical audiences, identifying opportunities for improved data collection, quality and processes

  • Mentor team members, promote best practices for data stewardship and develop frameworks that enhance productivity and collaboration

  • Explore new opportunities through creative analytical and engineering methods

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, MS or higher in a quantitative field such as computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics or statistics with over 7 years of experience in advanced data analytics, data engineering or similar roles

  • Strong expertise in SQL and proficiency in Python or another scripting language for data manipulation, automation and modelling using tools such as dbt and Airflow

  • Skilled in building reliable data models, transforming flawed or changing datasets into consistent outputs and developing reports and dashboards using tools such as Looker, Tableau or Power BI

  • Familiar with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift and experienced with big data technologies including Spark, Kafka and Delta Lake

  • Background in data science and machine learning with exposure to predictive modelling, statistical methods and experimentation is highly desirable

  • Experienced in managing workflows with Agile practices while leading multiple projects and navigating fast-paced, ambiguous environments with diverse stakeholders

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to dissect vague asks and deliver strategic insights in a clear and digestible way

  • Experience in media, streaming or other customer-focused industries is preferred

Hybrid Working – This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
