Digital Legends, an Activision studio based in Barcelona, contributes to multiple titles within the Call of Duty franchise.

Founded in 2001, we innovate in AAA gaming through creativity, technology, and a passionate team of industry veterans and emerging talent. Our notable titles include Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

We are seeking a Lead VFX Artist to play a vital role in supporting our AAA games.

Your responsibilities :

• Design, create, and implement particle effects and systems.
• Create visual effects that effectively communicate game information.
• Push technical boundaries to develop AAA-quality VFX that bring the game to life.
• Collaborate with artists, designers, and programmers to ensure high-quality visual effects that enhance gameplay.
• Propose new tools or features and provide feedback to improve existing tools.
• Guide and mentor team members, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Maintain consistent quality and artistic standards in visual effects.
• Communicate risks, updates, and mitigations effectively across the studio.

Your skills :

• Experience with real-time VFX using Shuriken, Particle Graph, Cascade, or Niagara.
• Experience working on console titles.
• A strong portfolio of effects or projects using any engine.
• Ability to optimize effects for console and PC, pushing creative boundaries.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Organized, especially in VFX management and naming conventions.
• Proactive problem-solver with creative solutions.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Previous leadership experience managing a team of VFX artists.

It’s always a plus :

• Knowledge of simulation, post-processing, and shaders for debugging and effects translation.
• Basic understanding of 3D, textures, and spritesheets.
• Experience with proprietary engines.
