We are hiring for Japanese speaking Translators (also with fluency in either French, German, Italian or Spanish ) to join a global video games and media entertainment brand with a responsibility to work on all localisation and translation projects for their entertainment related materials (video games, website, apps content, product packaging etc.) for their French, German, Italian or Spanish speaking markets.

Language requirements for the job

  • French to mother tongue standard + fluency in Japanese
  • German to mother tongue standard + fluency in Japanese
  • Italian to mother tongue standard + fluency in Japanese
  • Spanish to mother tongue standard + fluency in Japanese
  • Location of the job
    London or Dublin office based. Fully remote option available also in the EU.

    Job responsibilities of the Translator
    To work as part of their global translation and editing team, they wish to recruit Japanese AND also either French, German, Italian or Spanish speaking Translators.

    You will work closely with a team of in-house professionals ( Editors, Project Coordinators, Managers etc) on all translation aspects of video games translation and be required to translate and proofread video games content from Japanese into either French, Italian, German or Spanish.

    The successful candidate skills and experience background

  • Either French, German, Italian or Spanish to mother tongue standard AND also fluency in Japanese. Good written and oral communication skills in English are required
  • Translation experience
  • Experience of working to deadlines
  • Previous experience in the gaming industry is an advantage
  • Creative writing style with a knowledge of local culture for language of expertise
  • Demonstrated experience utilising specialised technical programs to translate files is essential
  • Experience with Word and Excel is required and ability to learn new programs is essential
  • Excellent attention for details, ability to understand how different tasks can interact, handling of existing
  • lossaries
  • Usage of CAT tools, in particular MemoQ, and an ability to learn new processes and software.
  • Good team-player
  • Salary, benefits, working hours etc
    £39,000 – £59,000. Salary is directly related to each candidates’ qualifications and professional experience. Monday – Friday, 09:30am-5:30pm, 1 hour lunch
