Post-Production Assistant

Position Summary
The Post-Production Assistant provides critical support across both technical and creative functions in the post-production department, with a strong focus on IT systems, equipment maintenance, and data workflows. This is an entry-level role suited to someone with foundational IT knowledge and an interest in video editing and media management.
Working primarily with DaVinci Resolve and LTO archiving systems, the successful candidate will support editors, assist with system upkeep, and ensure post-production assets are handled securely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support and Maintenance

Provide first-level support for hardware and software issues on Mac and Windows systems

Maintain editing workstations, peripherals, and shared storage systems (e.g. NAS/SAN)

Monitor system health and storage availability, flagging issues proactively

Install and update post-production software (primarily DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Creative Cloud)

Coordinate with external IT providers to escalate technical issues when required

Track and manage inventory of technical assets, drives, cards and accessories

Ensure safe handling of external media and enforce IT/data security protocols

Assist in managing user accounts, logins and permissions across platforms

Apply regular updates, virus protection, and basic troubleshooting of networking issues
Video Post-Production Support

Ingest and organise rushes using company file naming and folder structures

Transcode and create proxies as required for offline edits

Assist with syncing rushes, creating multicam timelines and preparing Resolve projects for editors

Provide support in exporting cuts and review versions
-
QC exports for technical errors (e.g. audio sync, missing graphics, artefacts)

Manage and update project files, timelines and delivery folders

Archive completed projects to LTO tapes using the company’s archiving protocol

Maintain the LTO archive database to ensure accurate cataloguing and retrieval

Restore archived material on request, verifying data integrity

Support editors and producers with file wrangling and handover processes
Skills and Attributes

Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve desirable (basic editing, project setup, exporting)

Interest or experience in media archiving (especially LTO tape workflows)

Basic understanding of IT systems, storage, and file security

Ability to follow structured processes with strong attention to detail

Effective communicator with good problem-solving instincts

Eagerness to learn and support a creative, fast-moving team
