Football Victoria (FV) is the governing body for football in Victoria.

We are recognised as the organisation responsible for the administration, promotion and delivery of football and futsal (indoor football) in the state by both the State and Federal Governments, as well as Football Australia (FA).

Our funding derives from membership and club affiliation fees, government grants and corporate sponsorship.

Through the national body’s affiliation with FIFA (Federation of International Football Associations), we look after everything football in Victoria including:

  • Amateurs

  • Youth

  • Referees

  • Coaches

  • Officials

  • Volunteers

FV are a not for profit sporting organisation run by a Board of Directors, elected by football stakeholders. We reinvest any money generated by the game in a financially prudent manner, prioritising in providing more coaching, education, facilities, support and participation opportunities to the community and our partners back to where it is needed most.

We currently employ over 70 staff to deliver on the FV Strategic Plan (“FootbALLways”) and administration of weekly football matches, producing annual football fixtures and appropriate rules of competition. Referees are also appointed to these matches to facilitate a safer and more enjoyable participation experience.

We also deliver education programs and resources to talented players, coaches, referees and club volunteers while promoting the game through various channels, keeping our members informed regularly through a dedicated communications program.

The Role

The Videographer will play a key role within the marketing & media function at FV, capturing and delivering content to support with generating awareness and promotion of FV events, competitions and programs as well as covering news stories in the Victorian Football landscape.

As Videographer your role is to capture and edit content to produce engaging video to support internal and external communications for Football Victoria. As the sole videographer you’ll receive briefs from the wider FV team and within the media and marketing team and from there, own the process from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming briefs and seek clarification to fully understand the purpose of the content and the key elements and message to be captured/highlighted in the final edit.

  • Capture and create content that engages with the target audience, as directed by the Marketing & Media team.

  • Utilise a variety of filming methods and equipment to capture content for the required channels i.e. vertical and horizontal formats and various ratio’s for social media plus microphones, lighting and drone equipment.

  • Professionally capture footage and audio on and off site, ensuring clear audio in challenging conditions.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Content & Communications Manager to manage video production priorities across the business.

  • Edit using video editing software (preferably Adobe Premiere Pro) and incorporate after-effects as needed, including motion graphics, layout, and animation to prepare content for publication.

  • Apply varied video production styles and be on brand for each program, event, competition, news story or internal communications piece.

  • Ensure produced video adheres to digital accessibility requirements using captions, whilst maintaining brand integrity.

  • Stay informed and up-to-date on trends and developments in audio-visual production.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Ability to manage multiple video content projects, at various stages in your day to day.

  • Meet delivery deadlines in accordance with provided communications plans and marketing campaign schedules.

  • High level of communication and relationship building skills, with a demonstrated ability to provide professional service to staff at all levels as well as external members.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in, or professional experience in communications, multimedia or similar field with detail of relevant skills and projects.

  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in video production techniques, trends and accessibility standards.

  • Demonstrated experience and examples of creating engaging video content.

  • Highly developed computer literacy with demonstrated experience using video editing software, preferably Premiere Pro/After Effects.

  • Excellent time and project management skills and proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a committed team, as well as independently.

  • Excellent communication and self-management skills, along with strong creative thinking.

  • High level of flexibility is required for this role, involving some evenings and weekends.

This job will require a valid Working with Childrens Check.
