The sky is the limit for a quick learner in this fast-paced and competitive industry. You will be an essential team member as you work in various behind-the-scenes areas of the show. You are innovative, quick on your feet, and have excellent news judgment. You are skilled at prioritizing and multitasking various assignments on tight deadlines.Schedule will vary depending on news. Must be able to work flexible shifts.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESCut video and sound and produce graphics under deadline pressurePitch story ideas and commit to seeing them through from start to finishProduce guest segments and reporter hits while coordinating with studio and field crewsProduce and coordinate content for social media platformsWHAT YOU WILL NEEDBachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study required, or equivalent experienceGreat communication skills, positive attitude, and dedicated member of the Varney & Co. teamStrong digital and social media skillsExperience with cutting video using Ardome1-2 years of live television experience is a plusWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
