Your New Role :  
The Senior Director of Analytics and Reporting will play a key leadership role in driving the enterprise-wide analytics and business intelligence (BI) strategy, technology, and services. This individual will be responsible for shaping and implementing a self-service analytics strategy that empowers the organization to leverage data for strategic decision-making and business transformation. Working closely with business leaders, this role will ensure the integration of actionable insights from data, providing high-quality reporting, business analysis, and analytics services that drive performance across all business functions. The Senior Director will also oversee the development and implementation of semantic data models that bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Your Role Accountabilities:

Enterprise Analytics and BI Strategy:  

  • Develop and execute the enterprise analytics and BI strategy to ensure that data is leveraged across the organization to drive business decisions, optimize operations, and support digital transformation.  

  • Define and implement a long-term vision for self-service analytics that enables business users across all functions to access and analyze data independently.  

  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify key business questions and opportunities that can be addressed through analytics, ensuring that analytics efforts are aligned with business priorities.  

  • Establish key metrics and KPIs that track the success and effectiveness of analytics and BI initiatives, ensuring measurable business outcomes.  

  • Oversee the design and rollout of new analytics and reporting capabilities to continuously evolve the company’s data capabilities.  

Self-Service Analytics Strategy: 

  • Lead the development and execution of a self-service analytics strategy, ensuring that business teams have the tools, training, and support they need to analyze data and generate insights on their own.  

  • Select, implement, and manage analytics platforms that empower business users to create their own dashboards, reports, and analysis with minimal IT support.  

  • Establish best practices for self-service analytics adoption, ensuring data governance, security, and quality standards are maintained while enabling user autonomy.  

  • Work with business leaders to create a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization, ensuring that data analytics becomes integral to business operations.  

Business and Data Analysis Services: 

  • Provide business analysis services to support business units in understanding and interpreting data, identifying trends, and making data-driven recommendations.  

  • Lead a team of analysts to deliver insightful reports and dashboards that highlight key business performance metrics and trends.  

  • Work with stakeholders to define reporting and analytics requirements, ensuring that outputs are aligned with business goals.  

  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality, actionable insights from data analysis that support the company’s business strategy and decision-making processes.  

Reporting and BI Development: 

  • Oversee the creation, development, and maintenance of BI dashboards, reports, and ad hoc analyses that provide critical insights to stakeholders at all levels.  

  • Manage the design, implementation, and optimization of data visualizations, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and usability for business users.  

  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability of reporting and BI deliverables, while continuously enhancing reporting processes to meet evolving business needs.  

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices in analytics, BI tools, and data visualization, recommending new tools or techniques to improve capabilities.  

Semantic Modeling: 

  • Lead the development of semantic data models to bridge the gap between business users and technical teams, ensuring that data is organized and structured in a way that supports business analysis and decision-making.  

  • Work with data architects and engineers to ensure that data models are consistent, reusable, and aligned with the company’s overall data architecture and governance standards.  

  • Define and manage the business glossary and ensure that business terms are clearly understood and consistently used across the organization.  

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: 

  • Partner with business leaders, data scientists, data engineers, and IT teams to ensure alignment of analytics efforts with business needs and technological capabilities.  

  • Foster a collaborative environment between business, technical, and data teams, ensuring strong communication and shared goals.  

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing strategic guidance on analytics and reporting to drive business performance.  

  • Manage key relationships with external analytics vendors and service providers to support analytics needs.  

Team Leadership and Development: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analysts, data scientists, and BI specialists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.  

  • Build and maintain a high-quality team that provides consistent business analysis, data analysis, reporting, and BI solutions that drive the organization’s goals.  

  • Ensure the professional development of the team through training, skill-building, and exposure to new technologies and methodologies.

Qualifications & Experiences: 

  • 12+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data analysis, and reporting, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role. 

  • Proven track record of developing and executing enterprise analytics and BI strategies that have delivered measurable business impact. 

  • Strong expertise in implementing self-service analytics solutions, ensuring business users can access and leverage data with minimal reliance on IT. 

  • Deep knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView), data visualization techniques, and data reporting best practices. 

  • Experience in developing and implementing semantic data models that facilitate business understanding and usage of data. 

  • Strong background in business analysis, data analysis, and reporting, with the ability to provide actionable insights that influence decision-making. 

  • Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and data privacy regulations, ensuring analytics initiatives align with organizational policies and industry standards. 

  • Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data management technologies. 

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, working closely with business leaders, technical teams, and stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions. 

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a focus on delivering results and driving business performance. 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across the organization

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus). 

Desirable Skills: 

  • Experience in data science or advanced analytics techniques, including predictive analytics or machine learning. 

  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and how they apply to analytics and BI projects. 

  • Strong familiarity with enterprise data architectures, data lakes, and big data technologies.
