Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Videographer /Editor with over 10 years of experience in video production, strategic content creation, storytelling, technical leadership, branding, and lighting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing content production across diverse domestic and international markets, adapting strategies to various cultures and regions. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who thrives in collaborating with and leading creative teams, overseeing high-level production projects, and crafting content that tells powerful, engaging stories while aligning with brand identity and global marketing strategies.
The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing content production from conception to completion, ensuring that all projects reflect the brand’s voice and achieve business objectives, while overseeing a project team of creatives and technical experts. You will collaborate with cross-functional departments, lead international productions, and bring a unique global perspective to all projects.
The Senior Videographer/Editor will be part of the Creative Services division at Events DC. The ideal candidate will have expert level experience and knowledge across a multimedia platform.
Responsibilities
- Domestic & Global Content Creation & Strategy:
- Lead the development and execution of video content strategies for global campaigns, ensuring alignment with both local and international brand objectives.
- Craft compelling stories that resonate with diverse audiences across different regions and cultural contexts.
- Oversee the creation of content for various platforms, including digital, broadcast, social media, and print, ensuring all content is high quality and culturally relevant.
- Video Production & Technical Leadership:
- Take ownership of all video production processes, from pre-production planning and budgeting to on-location shoots and post-production.
- Manage and guide the technical aspects of video production, including camera work, lighting design, sound, and editing, ensuring all content meets high visual and technical standards.
- Lead the production team, including video editors, camera operators, lighting technicians, and sound engineers, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
- Brand Strategy & Messaging:
- Ensure all content produced is aligned with the global brand’s voice, tone, and messaging.
- Collaborate closely with marketing and branding teams to integrate brand strategies into video content that enhances visibility and drives engagement.
- Adapt global campaigns to cater to regional nuances while maintaining a cohesive, unified brand identity across all markets.
- Storytelling & Creative Direction:
- Direct the creative vision for video content, balancing artistic storytelling with strategic marketing goals.
- Develop innovative storytelling techniques and formats to engage audiences and elevate the brand’s narrative.
- Provide leadership in creative decision-making throughout the production lifecycle, ensuring consistency in vision and execution.
- Lighting & Cinematic Expertise:
- Lead the lighting design for all video productions, ensuring that lighting choices complement the creative direction and enhance the emotional impact of the story.
- Provide technical leadership in terms of camera equipment, lighting setups, and visual composition to achieve cinematic results.
- Manage and troubleshoot lighting and technical equipment on set, ensuring high-quality visuals in diverse production environments.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead and manage a diverse team of creatives, producers, and technicians, ensuring clear communication and smooth collaboration across regions.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team environment that encourages creative innovation and professional development.
- Manage external vendors, contractors, and production partners to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
- Budget Oversight & Project Management:
- Develop and manage production budgets for international and multi-regional campaigns, ensuring resources are allocated effectively across various projects.
- Oversee the financial aspects of production, including cost negotiations with vendors, securing project quotes, and controlling expenses.
- Ensure projects stay within budget and timeline constraints while delivering high-quality content.
- International Production Experience:
- Leverage your experience in managing international assignments and multi-location shoots, ensuring smooth logistics, cultural sensitivity, and adaptability across different countries.
- Coordinate with local teams, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure efficient production processes and successful project outcomes in diverse markets.
- Performance Tracking & Strategy Refinement:
- Analyze the effectiveness of content and adjust strategies based on performance data, audience engagement metrics, and regional market trends.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to refine content strategies based on results and feedback from global campaigns.
Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in film production, Media Studies, Communications, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in video production, content creation, and strategic leadership across international markets.
- Must be able to work on location and travel domestically or internationally for events as needed.
- Availability for occasional nights, weekends, or holidays to cover live events.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise in video, photography, graphics, and social media content.
- Successful completion of background screening process.
- Proven experience leading large-scale video productions and managing cross-functional, multicultural teams.
- Strong background in storytelling, branding, lighting design, and technical aspects of video production.
- Advanced proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, After Effects), lighting equipment, camera techniques, and production tools.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate creative teams, contractors, and cross-functional departments.
- In-depth knowledge of global branding strategies, marketing, and content distribution across multiple platforms.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate with senior leadership, marketing, and creative teams across various regions.
