Our purpose is to enrich the student experience by focusing on their non-academic needs through an array of student-driven programs and services. We are governed by elected student representatives who set the strategic vision on behalf of students. PURPOSE This position assists the Marketing and Communications team in creating marketing content by providing video recording, production, editing, and other related duties.   RESPONSIBILITIES Video Production and Editing – 90% Collaborate with various departments and marketing staff to develop video briefs, concepts and scripts for requested and ongoing videos. Film/Record SAMU live events (Event times and locations may vary, including off campus).  Collaborate with the part-time Brand Ambassador to develop a video series promoting SAMU and it’s programs, services and events. Film student interviews and/or interactions with SAMU events and staff Ensure a consistent style and format of SAMU videos including intro branding Edit video footage using Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects Create promo/teaser and recap videos for all SAMU major events (Fallfest, Speakers Series, etc.) and for other SAMU services and programs as needed. Provide technical knowledge of cameras and the video production process. Arrange for rental, pick up and return of any video-related equipment. Provide technical support for technical aspects of video recording tools.   Other Duties as Assigned– 10% Update videographer training module as required. Work with SAMU’s project management software to update tasks and communicate with other staff related to projects  Assist the Marketing Team with other tasks and duties as required.    CORE COMPETENCIES Accountability Being accountable and passing on accountability for one’s own actions and those of colleagues and the organization. Student Orientation The ability and willingness to find out what the student wants and needs and to act accordingly, taking the organization’s costs and benefits into account.   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Preference will be given to current MacEwan Students registered in a minimum of one class during either Fall 2025 or Winter 2026 term. Enrolled in Marketing and Communications Certification/Degree or related field preferred Motion graphic experience (Nice to have) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines Strong Experience filming and editing video, using various video equipment and Adobe Creative Cloud software. E.g. After Effects and Premiere Pro Strong knowledge of film and video basics (lighting, sound, imagery) WORKING CONSIDERATIONS Medium Effort – Sitting, Kneeling, Squatting, Standing, Walking, Climbing Stairs, Lifting up to 35 pounds    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Up to 20 hours/week with office hours between 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Will work around the student’s schedule. Some evening and weekend work may be required for this position.
