FRWD Social
Full job description
ABOUT FRWD
FRWD Social is a boutique social media agency that focuses specifically on pickleball and tennis. We offer full social media management services that are heavily content-creation focused. With a presence at the biggest professional events (PPA Tour and Major League Pickleball), we are one of the leading content creators in pickleball. We have been working with pro players such as Anna Bright, Jorja & JW Johnson, Tyra Black, Jay Devilliers, Parris Todd, and many more. As well as players, we offer services to MLP teams and brands in the industry.
We’re a young and dynamic team, full of energy, creativity and ambition. If you’re looking for stimulating shooting opportunities in the sports industry, and dream of traveling from tournament to tournaments to witness a professional sport in action, this could be it!
THE GIG
FRWD Social is looking for hybrid shooters (photo and video capture) to be our feet and our eyes at tournaments and events, gathering content for the FRWD athletes and clients. The shooters will travel to events within a team (typically 2 to 3 shooters), so they must be able to work as a team and communicate efficiently throughout the day. The shooters will shoot specifically with social media in mind (vertical photos and videos). Most of the content capture will be of live action, with the occasional BTS and staged pieces of content.
The shooter is an extension of the FRWD brand at events, and will be in constant communication with the account managers. The shooter will do his best to execute the account managers’ vision, matching the vibe and look of the brand. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling through visual media and possess a strong understanding of video production techniques.
This is a shooting-only job, and doesn’t require editing.
Role includes:
- Shooting the full tournament day, from when our first clients’ matches start to the end.
- Uploading footage on dedicated Google Drives at the end of each shooting day.
- Sorting through his own photos and delivering them daily.
- Participating in a pre-tournament briefing call.
The shooter is expected to:
- Have experience in videography and photography, ideally in a sports context.
- Answer to strict deliverables across multiple clients.
- Be creative while following directions.
- Shoot in standard picture profile to prioritize a quick turnaround of the footage for social media.
- Shoot live action in a creative way, mixing up angles, framings and moments, within the scope that is allowed by the tournament organization.
- Be organized and self-manage his time to hit all the key moments.
- Work well in a team, and communicate efficiently with fellow team members.
- Have his own gear (computer is mandatory for uploads, however, using FRWD camera gear is an option *we use SONY)
Compensation: $300 per day + all travel expenses ($40 per diem, flights, transportation and accommodation)
Important qualities:
- Creative, artistic, have “the eye”
- Have the focus and energy required to push through long tournament days
- Proactive in testing new shots and techniques
- Good communication skills with team members and clients
- Must be able to understand the account managers’ vision and bring it to life
