The ideal candidate is creative, efficient and experienced in turning around high-quality video products on tight deadlines. Examples of Work Performed Editing high-quality videos that feature legislative events and policy initiatives within the Florida House of Representatives Using Adobe Creative Cloud applications to edit videos and export final video products for social media Collaborating with a communications team to bring the vision for a video to completion Ingesting and maintaining digital media files on an organized, shared network Using project management software to track deadlines, feedback and approvals Assisting in video shoots in a studio and around the Capitol as needed Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to plan, edit and deliver professional video products that exhibit consistent audio levels, color balance and visual interest using Adobe Creative Cloud applications Ability to tell a compelling story with video that communicates a desired message and tone Ability to offer creative and practical input when collaborating with the communications team Ability to maintain careful attention to detail and organization within the video production workflow Ability to deliver videos on same-day turnaround deadlines when necessary Ability to receive and incorporate feedback into a finished video product Ability to encode and deliver video products for social media and event venue distribution Ability to manipulate or create 2D motion graphics and elements Ability to edit with a variety of digital video formats and codecs Ability to work extended hours during Interim Committee Weeks and Legislative Sessions Ability to exercise good judgment when interacting with Legislators and staff Knowledge of storyboarding, scriptwriting and creating subtitles that are factual and grammatically accurate Knowledge of screen capturing and streaming software such as OBS Studio Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Familiarity with Sony cinema cameras (FX3 and FX6) and related studio equipment is beneficial but not required. Awareness of Florida’s political landscape is beneficial but not required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in communications or a related field AND three years of professional experience in video editing OR Completion of a program of study in videography or communications from a vocational/technical school, commercial art school or community college AND three years of professional experience in video editing OR A high school diploma or equivalency and five years of professional experience in video editing.
