This is an important role to display proficient cutting and finishing skills on both long and short form edits using Avid Media Composer. You will be proficient with After Effects and be able to demonstrate technical ability and creativity to work in a variety of styles and develop high-impact graphics through After Effects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Editing short-form TVCs, promos and long-form infomercials for TV broadcast and our instore retailers
• Editing short form content for online and social
• Re-versioning of 3rd party films from outside the UK
• Creating Titles and Effects in After Effects using in House Templates and Creating Projects and Templates from scratch
• Working to delivery deadlines and set schedules
• Preparing files for different delivery streams following specifications
• Create comprehensive ‘project collects’ of all completed work for distribution (to our international teams) and archive purposes
• Adhere to department file structure and best practice.
• Participating in team meetings and discussions and contributing to the benefit of the department
• Other ad-hoc duties when required to support the department

As well as being a great team player youll also be able to work on your own initiative without the need for constant supervision. You should be able to respond to edit requests, meet deadlines, media manage and contribute to our busy post team.

Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 3 years working on Avid Media Composer in a professional broadcast environment
• Fluent with Adobe After Effects with a minimum 2 years experience. Examples required
• Knowledge of Photoshop and illustrator with the ability to translate pre-made design templates into Motion Graphic Sequences
• Understanding of the DRTV format
• A good understanding of Colour Grading and Colour Science
• Able to carry out QC and PSE checks on all finished work and ensure that all work complies with Broadcast Guidelines
• Experience of Audio mixing and working with Broadcast Audio Levels. Able to deliver Broadcast Quality Audio and an understanding of plug-ins such as Nugen
• Ability to multitask and work to pressurised deadlines
• Understanding of Media Encoder for delivery desirable
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable following directions as well as working on own to an edit brief
• Attention to detail and excellent media management skills are crucial
• Keeps up to date with new technology in the marketplace
• Above all, a team player with a positive outlook, who upholds company and department ethos
• Able to adhere to a media management framework standardised across all projects
