The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Videographer and Photographer to join our team!

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

As The Videographer and Photographer, you will be responsible for successfully directing and editing high quality photos and videos to tell the Y’s story across digital platforms and lead video production of virtual programs. This position will serve on the Virtual team as a key member of the virtual experience in service to the Y’s strategic priorities of member experience, program and summer experience, staff experience, and philanthropy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate marketing and communications priorities into high quality photos and videos to tell the Y’s story in a meaningful and impactful way. Build an organized and robust content library of photos and videos.
  • Represent the organization as the primary content creator for all social media platforms, establishing a clear and engaging point-of-view and channel/platform specific perspective.
  • Direct, capture, edit, publish, and promote high quality videos in support of identified priorities. This includes leading script development, identifying talent, conducting interviews, capturing B-roll, and set up and break down recording equipment before and after use.
  • Appropriately manage storage and naming convention of all video and photo content, using a digital asset managing system when possible.
  • Manage use and maintenance of photo, video, audio, and lighting equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement of digital platforms to keep content and user experiences fresh, engaging, and related to operations, programs, membership, campaigns, and messaging.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment among marketing and communications team, association office, and all Y locations.
  • Use available data sources to research, analyze, and determine performance of platforms and content and propose improvements.
  • Establish key performance indicators for photos and videos to measure success of all content.
  • Report analytics for specific areas of responsibility.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing and communications team to ensure brand and voice consistency.
  • Meet performance measurement by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in film and media, new media, cinematography, or related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Two years of successful experience as a. photographer and videography.
  • Proven ability to be an innovative, creative, proactive and self-directed team player who works in a fast-paced environment and meets deadlines.
  • Two years of successful experience creating photo and video content for social media platforms, specifically Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills including ability to compose content, write and edit compelling stories.
  • Proficient in various video editing software programs, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to work with people of all ages from all walks of life, helping them feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera.
  • Time management and multitasking skills to work within tight deadlines, capturing action and once-in-a lifetime moments on camera.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in person training throughout employment as required.

Wage: $25.00 to $31.50.00 per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

Location: YMCA Association Office, Tacoma, WA
