Position: Editor/Assistant Director

Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week)

Hourly Rate: $16 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a versatile Editor/Assistant Director to support our production team. This role involves primary responsibilities in video editing and secondary duties as an assistant director. The ideal candidate will be adept at editing, capable of managing a crew, and willing to take on various support tasks, ensuring smooth production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Video Editing:

– Edit video footage to produce high-quality content that meets project specifications and company standards.

– Collaborate with producers and directors to understand project needs and deliver polished final edits on schedule.

– Maintain consistency with the company’s brand and visual style.

Assistant Director Duties:

– Assist in coordinating and managing the production team, including crew members and talent.

– Handle logistical tasks to ensure efficient on-set operations, including equipment setup and organization.

– Contribute to shot composition and framing, supporting the creative vision of the project.

– Perform support tasks such as being a grip, getting coffee, and addressing other on-set needs.

– Manage scheduling and coordination tasks as required.

Broadcast Van Operations:

– Work comfortably and efficiently within the constraints of a broadcast van’s small space.

– Ensure smooth operation of equipment and effective communication with the team in a confined environment.

Qualifications:

– Proven experience in video editing, with proficiency in software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar.

– Familiarity with assistant directing and production workflows is a plus.

– Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a knack for managing various on-set responsibilities.

– Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with others.

– Attention to detail and a passion for both editing and directing.

– Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
