Job Summary:
The Videographer/Producer is primarily responsible for videography work on location and in the studio, maintaining high creative standards in lighting, composition and camera work.
This position produces and writes local program content including documentaries, web series, educational videos and occasional on-air fundraising. This position also includes non-linear editing work.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises writers, associate producers, interns, and production and operations staff assigned to projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Videography/Editing
- Functions as Videographer for EFP and studio productions, providing creative and technically correct video recordings.
- Lights and shoots projects in the field and studio.
- Maintains current knowledge and creative edge in operation of television, audio and computer equipment in support of all video production, studio or remote.
- Functions as Video Editor for station productions using professional editing systems as well as other editing and graphics software.
- Designs and executes video graphic elements on available workstations.
- Works well with producers in helping them visualize their projects, either working alone or with instruction.
- Maintains flexible work schedule including nights and weekends.
- Maintains integrity of production and post-production equipment and recommends upgrades and replacements.
- Functions in any of the positions of a production assignment as assigned for both field and studio based productions (i.e. Floor Director, Camera, Teleprompter, Staging and Lighting, etc.
- Producer/Director/Writer
- Responsible for the creation and execution of television, broadcast events and digital content.
- Develops and executes other video productions for internal and external clients as assigned.
- Develops and writes scripts for documentaries, web series, reality style productions, dramatic reenactments and narrative style productions.
- Supervises productions in the studio and field, including multi-camera studio productions and location shoots that include actors or documentary subjects.
- Supervises writers, associate producers, interns, and production and operations staff assigned to such projects.
- Budgeting
- Ensures that productions remain within budget limitations.
- General
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Graphics skills in support of various productions.
- Familiarity with public broadcasting production and operations and digital production expertise.
- A command of lighting techniques, camera movement and composition.
- Demonstrated ability in editing. Should have experience editing in Final Cut Pro X.
- High level of creativity as demonstrated by sample reel.
- Proven ability to work with others and ability to work without supervision.
Education:
- Two year college degree or equivalent industry experience.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Three or more years experience as a videographer with demonstrated excellence in creating both live broadcast programming and field production, as well as demonstrated ability to tell a story visually.
- Experience withdrone operation.

- Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
