About Honeycombers
How can we inspire, empower and engage our audience? That’s what we ask ourselves each day. That’s why we exist.
We want to excite you to try new things, explore, taste, hop on an adventure, let your hair down (or cut it off), get that tattoo or four-hand massage, or rescue a four-legged friend – and get the very best out of the place you live.
Honeycombers was first founded by Chris Edwards, an Aussie expat living in Singapore who found herself surrounded by young expats calling Singapore boring. But she knew it was far from boring. In fact, there are so many awesome events, vintage stores, pop-ups, hidden bars and undiscovered trails – you just need to know where to look. That’s when Honeycombers was born.
Chris’s vision for Honeycombers is to create a lifestyle platform with meaning. We value local stories, having real impact, teamwork, integrity and having fun. Today we have over 35 staff working across 4 countries. We work hard at being a really great company to work for. We empower our employees, we provide flexibility, including a work from anywhere policy, and we have a 4.5 day work week (yes Friday afternoons are not a great time to catch us!). We want our team to feel valued and empowered, which is why we do our best to provide them with a workplace they love.
About Our Values
Like all good companies, we value inclusion, respect and all other kinds of ethical behaviour. Alongside these, there are five values we prize and actively look for in staff and candidates:
Impact – We have a strong influence and impact on our audience, our clients and our wider community. We make a real difference. We take special pride in what we do and only write about things we believe in, and we’re constantly working to bring you the latest and raddest happenings around town, even if it means frequent hangovers (we’ll take one for the team).
Integrity – We want to do things that make our kids proud. We are honest and have strong moral principles.
Teamwork – Nothing works unless there is teamwork. We work together, collaboratively as a team, to achieve our goals. Our team has a growth mindset, and we look to reach more people through innovative content.
Love Local – We celebrate local designers, creators, producers and businesses. We want to use our powers to lift them up.
Fun – We are playful, we have good humour (well, we love a joke or two) and we enjoy having a sense of fun at work. We’ll be honest: we love our jobs, and we want to find the right candidate who will love working with us too.
