Join our dynamic and creative team at Canoe the Caney, where we bring history and mystery to life through storytelling. We are located in Silver Point, known for its rich heritage and haunting tales. This fall season, we are looking for a passionate and charismatic Storyteller to engage our audience with historic events and spine-tingling ghost stories that have been passed down through generations.

Job Description: We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic storyteller and/or actor to share traditional ghost stories for our Halloween season events. This role requires an individual with a strong presence and the ability to captivate an audience under the stars. The ideal candidate will bring these eerie tales to life, providing both entertainment and a chilling experience that our guests will remember.

Responsibilities:

• Recount multiple ghost stories and historical facts in front of live audiences, adapting delivery to engage different age groups and dynamics.
• Work closely with our event coordination team to ensure a seamless flow of the evening’s entertainment.
• Engage with the audience before and after performances, enhancing their overall experience.
• Provide feedback on audience engagement and story reception to refine future performances.

Requirements:

• Experience as a storyteller, actor, or performer.
• Ability to speak in front of groups.
• Ability to memorize and recount lengthy and complex stories with ease.
• Availability to work consistently on Friday and Saturday nights from mid-September to mid-November.
• Passionate about storytelling with the ability to adapt style and content to suit an audience of varying ages and sensitivities.

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14 – 20 per week
