The team you will be joining is innovative, dynamic, and forward-looking.What you will do for Harris County Precinct 4 (HCP4)The Videographer/Photographer/Editor is responsible for shooting and editing video and photography for projects that support and communicate Harris County Precinct 4’s mission and values. The incumbent will work as one or more of the following on most projects: video editor, photo editor, motion graphics artist, teleprompter operator, sound engineer, videographer, and/or photographer. While the primary responsibility is to shoot and edit video and photos for Precinct 4’s marketing, communications, and public relations, the Videographer/Photographer/Editor will also work on projects for other divisions and entities as needed. The primary responsibility of this role will be either as editor or as videographer/ photographer as determined by division needs.Job Duties and Responsibilities: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.

  • Willingness to think outside the box and develop new ways to engage the community through compelling visuals.
  • Ability to film and photograph in a range of settings including, but not limited to, community events, press conferences, portraits/headshots, and business meetings.
  • Collaborate with communications teams, division leads, and partners to plan video and photoshoots.
  • Manage set up and take down of cameras, microphones, lighting, props, and other equipment.
  • Produce final visuals which may include graphics, closed captioning, and special effects.
  • Support the various visual needs for printed publications.
  • Produce content for media pages including preparing background film, also called “B” rolls.
  • Keep the photography gallery updated.
  • Special projects and tasks assigned.
