This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located in Raleigh – Wake County.


Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $31.25 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

This temporary position will be assigned to Boards and Commissions. This position is located at 430 North Salisbury St., Raleigh, NC., 27603.

The video editor will use software and editing tools to transform raw footage into finished videos that can inform and engage audiences. The video editor works with a variety of material, including camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, and graphics. Their responsibilities include:

  • Cutting and assembling recorded footage and audio
  • Merging content from multiple sources, adding pictures, graphics, visual effects, voice, and music
  • Creating titles and motion graphics
  • Formatting images to use in videos
  • Performing color corrections
  • Editing audio tracks as needed
  • Creating and editing captions
  • Following production deadlines
  • Shoots video and produces content as necessary
  • Exports videos and facilitates mobile and web distribution

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Minimum 1 year of video editing and post-production experience
  • Proficient in various non-linear video editing tools and other software (Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom)
  • Deep understanding of digital trends and editing principles
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, media journalism, English, or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in communications, public relations, or publicity work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
