Essential Functions
Job Summary
Assist the men’s basketball team with videotaping athletic events, including various multimedia productions, and assist the coaching staff with all video needs for scouting, recruiting, training, etc. Responsible for all aspects of media creation, including videography, graphic creation, nonlinear editing, research, and writing of media materials.
Core Responsibilities
- Operates various equipment such as video cameras, microphones, video/sound recording, and lighting equipment.
- Assists in daily basketball practice duties of videotaping and editing for coaches for breakdown and study purposes.
- Assists in producing highlight tapes for promotional recruitment and motivational use.
- Assists in producing situational cut-ups and statistical data videos by position, play, and formation for the coaching staff.
- Assists in coordinating film exchanges in accordance with the American Athletic Conference and NCAA guidelines.
- Edits productions, using various editing systems, and distribute to appropriate personnel.
- Assists in organizing, storing, and transporting production equipment, props, tripods, and tapes.
- Assists with on-the-court training as instructed by the head coach and within NCAA guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED, with training in the area of television or film.
- One (1) years of experience working in a video or multimedia environment.
- Familiarity with standard equipment used in the production of television, film, video, or slide/tape programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess up-to-date technical knowledge of digital equipment and lighting techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with major coursework/experience in television, film, communications, or directly related field.
- Two (2) years of experience working in a video or multimedia environment related to athletics.

Working Conditions
Working Environment:
- Office conditions, including working around equipment, working on location, and working in outside weather conditions.
- Work schedule includes evening and weekend hours to accommodate basketball and student-athletes’ schedules.
- Exposure to electrical hazards associated with audio and video equipment.
Physical Demands:
- Able to carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds per unit.
This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
