Fortis Construction Group Inc. is a place that people love to come to work every day and are passionate about the work we do.*The Role*Fortis Construction Group Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to provide overall administrative direction and oversee multiple construction projects. This role reports to the Executive team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overall project performance, including costs, scheduling, quality control and project status. The successful candidate will also oversee Project Coordinators and collaborate with the Field Superintendents in achieving project success, as well as maintain an excellent relationship with clients and trades.*Job Duties & Responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to, the following:** Be an ambassador of Fortis Construction Group Inc. both internally and externally* Mentor, coach, and supervise junior project managers and other members of the project team(s)* Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule* Develop, recommend, and implement the project plan and schedule* Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with owner, architect, consultants, subcontractors, building authorities, regulatory agencies and public* Setting up project reporting procedures (cost reports ? labour and material, site office procedures, document drawing control)* Providing performance status reports regarding cost forecast, schedule, and safety* Understanding and enforcing contractual responsibilities, contract documents and resolving disputes* Review and negotiate subcontracts and major purchase orders; monitor their progress, schedule and conducting subcontract buyout* Identify required and optional changes in project scope; negotiate change orders with the owner including processing and assessing cost and schedule impact* Preparing / verifying of progress payments to owner and subcontractors, and monitoring progress* Meeting manager/chair of project meetings* Involved in all facets of project close-out, including archiving of documents, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work* Developing and ensuring compliance with quality control plan and establishing site action teams as necessary* Monitor and control progress, costs and budgets throughout the project ensuring project profitability* Act to resolve disputes between the Company and owner/subcontractors when possible prior to escalating; manage claims and claims avoidance* Be responsible to ensure Fortis Construction Group Inc?s safety program is being followed at a project level* Liaising with building authorities and regulatory agencies as required.* Perform other duties as assigned to meet business unit and corporate objectives*Qualifications** Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related engineering or construction management discipline* Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in project management from project pursuit to project closeout, overseeing commercial
