Summary
The Videographer is an integral team member within the Strategic Communications group who will produce engaging content to foster affinity among alumni, inspire donations to support the Institute, and to showcase alumni events. This rewarding work focuses on creating feelings of nostalgia and is meant to draw our audience closer to the Alumni Association. This creative role is responsible for digitally capturing, editing and archiving footage and occasional still photography for use in internal and external communication channels. The role will report to the Senior Graphic Designer.
Video
- Responsible for capturing high-quality video content that aligns with our brand’s vision and objectives for web, social media, and email.
- Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video content for multiple platforms.
- Operate various video equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio gear.
- Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to develop video concepts and storyboards as part of promotion plans for projects.
Motion Graphics and Animation
- Create motion graphics and visual effects to enhance video content.
- Willing to explore cutting-edge integrations with social media including Augmented Reality filters and stickers in Meta’s Spark Studio.
- Build motion graphics and animated gifs in collaboration with graphic design and email teams.
- Review and help produce Reels and “low-fi” videos for social media.
Photography and Archiving
- Capture still photography used for the Alumni Magazine and internal purposes.
- Maintain our MediaSpace, Flickr, and internal footage archives, including processing images from outside partners after an event.
- Oversee external photographer resources during alumni events.
Graphic Design
- Help produce templated graphics for social media.
- Willingness to learn design skills to help with the production of motion graphics.
A portfolio is required as part of the application process.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Video Production, Communications, Broadcasting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Videographer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects or similar.
- Experience capturing still photography.
- Strong understanding of video production techniques, including lighting, sound, and camera operation.
- Experience with motion graphics and animation.
- Familiarity with color grading and audio mixing.
- Knowledge of drone operation and aerial videography is a plus.
- Basic understanding of photography principals and techniques.

Alumni Association staff operates in a hybrid in-office and remote work schedule, with at least 3 days in the office and 2 days of remote work weekly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $57,000.00 – $63,000.00 per year
