Position Information
Brockton Community Access (BCA) Television is seeking a motivated, creative and reliable Videographer/Editor (Full Time, 37.5 hours weekly) to join the BCA team to cover the city of Brockton’s community activities and events on a daily basis.
The BCA Videographer/Editor is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Director and works closely with BCA staff and BCA membership. The Videographer/Editor collaborates with BCA staff to primarily record and edit community events and activities on a daily basis for distribution on the Brockton PEG TV Channels, and secondarily empowers and supports members to train, create, produce and share community-focused, hyper-local content with the Brockton community. The ideal candidate will be flexible and excited about capturing the diverse and engaging activities occurring throughout the vibrant city of Brockton and delivering them to the BCA viewing audience. The main schedule is Monday – Friday, 11:00AM – 7:00PM (Subject to Change) (Some Weekends) and will fluctuate based on the time of events and activities occurring throughout the city.
Essential Daily Tasks include:
- Coordinate, manage, record and edit field productions of community events and activity coverage requests for on-air television distribution
- Record and edit Brockton community events for BCA field produced programs, create graphics, upload finished package to programming
- On occasion, support Studio and Field Production Access Coordinators during preproduction, production and post-production projects and member produced programs, prepare equipment and equipment refreshers when necessary for member check-in and check-out
- Provide one-to-one training to members on editing software, control room and field camera equipment
- Execute production responsibilities as studio camera operator, director, audio engineer, assistant director, podcast engineer, and other production positions, as needed
- Manage and supervise member studio productions and other member needs, as needed
- Provide technical support and equipment troubleshooting for BCA members, as needed
- Manage equipment inventory, repairs, replacement, log, ordering, organizing and distribution
- Assist with general upkeep, organization and cleanliness of editing rooms, control rooms, office areas
- Support staff and members by welcoming and guiding visitors and members throughout facility
- Other tasks include: general daily activities such as sending emails, answering phones and doorbells; editing shows for members or training members to edit shows; contributing to production of shows, setting up city hall or member zoom meetings and transmissions; using Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, Canva, and Final Cut, for production and public service announcements (PSAs).
Required Qualifications
Education Minimum High School Diploma; College Degree, preferred
Own reliable transportation. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, nights and holidays, when necessary. Engaging. Responsible. Solution-oriented. Strong attention to detail. Strong organizaion skills. Ability to work effecively with a socio-economically diverse client-base including local political leaders, business professionals, non-profit organizations, youth, and Brockton residents. Highly responsive and proactive to the needs of the membership. At least 1-3 years experience in television production. Exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Extensive understanding of the structure, practices, and procedures of a PEG staton, as well as, the community media access industry and its purpose.

Pay: $20.94 – $25.22 per hour
