We’re seeking:
An enthusiastic Junior Video Editor with an interest in videography to join our production team. Working alongside our Head of Production and Agency Producer, you will predominantly be involved in editing and post-production of videos for digital, social, and earned-first content. You will also work with the wider content team both in pre-production and production to assist with tasks like research, crewing, setting up camera gear, on-set running, and DIT responsibilities. You may also be required to act as videographer on shoots where appropriate.
You will:
- Support the lead editor’s workflow by preparing projects for editing, including categorising footage, choosing selects, syncing audio and creating rough cuts.
- Work towards becoming the main editor on smaller client projects and videos, progressing to larger full projects as you build confidence and skill.
- Ensure data management is well maintained: edit drives are regularly backed up, archive drives are in good order, memory cards are offloaded correctly.
- Edit mini showreels, social content and behind the scenes content.
- Seek to discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximise efficiency.
Desired qualities:
- Agency environments can occasionally be stressful, so the ability to work well under pressure and remain calm is a must.
- You should be solution focussed and have great organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
- A proactive attitude is essential in this role, and you should not be afraid to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in.
- You should be a natural communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- As a key member of a small but dynamic team, the opportunity for growth is huge so ambition to progress in the world of film production is key.
- Finally, being flexible and adaptable, with a strong work ethic is essential.
Desired skills:
- Evidence of a creative and artistic portfolio of either personal or professional projects and a clear eye for visual detail.
- Mac user.
- Experience with Premiere Pro (intermediate) & After Effects (basic).
- Basic knowledge of working with audio and an ear for selecting the right music for the edits.
- Knowledge of social media requirements, resolutions, aspect ratios, framerates, safe areas.
- Full driver’s licence and own vehicle required as position will require this on occasion.
Nice to haves:
- Microsoft Office experience.
- Videography experience.
- Knowledge of other NLEs such as DaVinci Resolve.
- Basic knowledge of camera settings, resolution, aspect ratios, picture profiles, frame rates, and codecs.
