We have an exciting new vacancy for a Video Editor at Marketing Manchester.

The role will be to provide editing support to Marketing Manchester’s in-house videographer and content team, assisting with the creation of high-quality of video that fulfils Marketing Manchester’s objective to promote Greater Manchester to a global audience as a place to visit, invest, meet, and study.

Marketing Manchester is the agency charged with promoting Greater Manchester nationally and internationally. The organisation is tasked with delivering activity that raises the overall profile and global perceptions of Greater Manchester. It leads on the visitor economy and incorporates the Manchester Convention Bureau and Sports Bidding Unit, whilst also delivering campaigns in partnership with the inward investment agency, MIDAS, focused on the promotion of frontier sectors including digital, innovation and green, as well as undertaking a range of place promotion activities, for capital investment, and real estate sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with Marketing Manchester’s in-house videographer and content team to create final-product video content that supports key projects, campaigns, and other marketing activity as per Marketing Manchester’s annual plan and aligned to the organisation’s commitments to partners, stakeholders, and Service Level Agreement holders.
  • Creating edits of high quality short and long form films in a range of formats – for social media, large and small screen, including broadcast quality suitable for a diverse range of audiences.
  • Administration of video project pipeline to ensure agreed delivery timelines are met, incorporating sensible contingency planning for additional edits and sign-off processes.
  • Grading film in Log, Cine and HGL formats.
  • Creating and/or sourcing graphics and on-screen animation.
  • Sourcing and/or creating supporting audio.
  • Reworking of video supplied by partners and stakeholders into campaign and project content.
  • Occasional liaising with AV teams at live events, such as MIPIM, to ensure consistency of quality in colour, aspect ratio, brightness etc, as befits such events.
  • Handling an effective hard drive storage system to ensure safe storage of output files and assets, as well as back-ups.
  • Working with a diverse range of communities and stakeholders and team members across Marketing Manchester, including Communications, Content, Digital, Marketing and Commercial.

About you:

  • Creating, planning, and editing video content.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Suite and Davinci Resolve.
  • Able to optimise video content for social media platforms.
  • At least two years’ experience as a video editor or similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of DSLR and broadcast standard camera equipment.

Skills Required:

  • Capabilities with graphic animation and motion graphics.
  • Workflow management and maintenance.
  • Colour correction and grading videos.
  • Audio mixing and mastering.
  • Experience of taking raw footage and working to a brief to deliver final-product video content.
  • Experienced use of video for engaging social media content, for conference and event support, for video press releases, and B roll production for partners.

Personal style:

  • Able to work successfully under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work as part of a small production team.
  • Confident in communicating with different users and stakeholders.
