Overview:

Kavahana, a pioneering brand in the non-alcoholic beverage industry, is seeking a Content Creator and Video Editor to join our team on a contract basis. We specialize in kava, a relaxing root drink cherished in Hawaii and the South Pacific Islands, and our brand offers a unique blend as an in-person bar experience in Santa Monica and eCommerce.

We’re on the lookout for a creative individual who can capture the essence of Kavahana, crafting compelling visual narratives that resonate with our audience and elevate our brand on our social media channels on TikTok and Instagram.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce engaging video content that aligns with Kavahana’s brand identity, mission, and marketing goals.
  • Film on-location at our non-alcoholic bar in Santa Monica to capture the vibrant atmosphere, customer interactions, and the unique experience of enjoying kava nectar.
  • Script out educational videos about kava and kava nectar with the founders and growing social media marketing team.
  • Edit video content to create polished final products for use across various digital platforms, including social media, YouTube, and our website.
  • Collaborate with the founders and our growing social media marketing team to brainstorm creative ideas for campaigns, special promotions, and brand storytelling.
  • Manage multiple content projects from conception to completion, ensuring all content is delivered on time and meets Kavahana’s quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in video production and editing, with a portfolio showcasing your ability to tell compelling stories visually.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., CapCut (most important), Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the dynamic needs of a growing brand.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Passion for the food and beverage industry, with an interest in non-alcoholic beverages and culture a plus, and an extra plus if you like kava/kava nectar, specifically.
  • Self-motivated, with a creative mindset and keen attention to detail.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to be a part of a rapidly growing brand with a unique market position.
  • The chance to work on a variety of creative projects, from conceptualization to final edit.
  • A flexible, contract-based role with the possibility of future projects.
  • A platform to showcase your creative talents and make a significant impact on our brand’s presence.

How to Apply:

Please submit your resume, a short blurb about yourself and why you’re interested (not a cover letter), and a link to your portfolio showcasing relevant work experience.
