Freelance Video Editor

We are looking for a talented and creative Video Editor to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a flair for crafting engaging video content that resonates on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and beyond. This role requires proficiency in video editing software, a keen understanding of modern sound design, and exceptional skills in motion graphics.

Responsibilities:

• Edit a variety of video content including commercial work, promotional videos, YouTube content, and highly engaging reels for social media platforms.
• Work efficiently in video editing software such as FCPX, Adobe Premiere, or Davinci Resolve.
• Create dynamic motion graphics and animations using After Effects, including 3D motion tracking.
• Implement modern sound design techniques to enhance the quality of videos.
• Participate in concept development, adhering to clients’ style preferences while injecting personal creativity.
• Collaborate with team members, attending weekly team meetings to ensure a cohesive vision.
• Provide accurate time estimates for project completion, adhering strictly to deadlines set.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in video editing and motion graphics (portfolio required).
• Proficiency in FCPX, Adobe Premiere, Davinci Resolve, and After Effects.
• Understanding of modern sound design and ability to mix audio to enhance video quality.
• Knowledge of color grading is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to provide accurate estimates and meet deadlines.
• Availability of 15-25 hours per week with flexibility based on project needs.
• Option to work remotely or on-site in St. Catharines.

Compensation:

• Contract position paid on a per-project basis, with compensation reflective of skill level and project demands.
• Estimated 1-3 projects simultaneously, requiring 2-10 hours each, depending on complexity.
