Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Video Editor with a strong sense of humor and experience working with meme-style content to join its growing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for editing short form meme videos that will live on social platforms (IG, TikTok) for a variety of accounts under the Doing Things’ umbrella. The Video Editor, Memes will work with mixed media to create videos; UGC, stock footage/images, original content, music, text, graphics, motion GFX, etc.

Our ideal candidate loves collaborating with others to come up with the best and funniest content possible, but you’re also capable of working independently and efficiently. They’re someone who’s adaptable and driven, and excited by the idea of working in a fast-paced environment.

This role is eligible for remote work.

Responsibilities:

• Your goal will be to create highly engaging, entertaining, and humorous meme video content that excites our existing followers and attracts new ones, while capturing the voice of the brands/accounts.
• You have strong technical skills and excellent creative instincts.
• Supplying your own ideas for a video edit, and working with other team members to bring their creative ideas to life.
• Staying super close to analytics, and using them to develop best practices and help build a loyal, highly engaged audience of rabid fans for our accounts/brands.
• Staying close to other team members to share ideas, successes and challenges across departments and brands.

Qualifications:

• Must be a fan of our accounts and share a similar sense of humor.
• 2+ years creating memes, either for an established brand/account, or personal.
• Must have a finger on the pulse of social media trends, and general pop culture.
• Excellent video editing skills.
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects.
• Knowledge of best practices in media management and workflows.
• Strong creative instincts and abilities when it comes to enhancing video footage.
• An understanding of how business and creative can work together, and how things like ad sales contribute to your ability to make great content.
• A desire to work in a fast-paced startup and always stay ahead of social media trends.

The base salary for this position at the time of posting will range from $65,000 to $70,000 USD. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications.
