Job Description

Become an integral supporting player on Comoto’s Creative Team! The primary responsibility of the Assistant Video Editor is to organize and prepare assets for edit, edit together commerce content, and optimize video deliverables for distribution. We are looking for a passionate assistant editor with great attention to detail who will work with the Post Production team to understand and meet Comoto’s quality standards and hit deadlines. This role will focus on product description videos that are featured across our ecommerce retail sites.

The Assistant Video Editor reports directly to the Post Production Manager and will work closely with the Senior Video Editor.

 

Our Next Assistant Video Editor Will:

  • Daily edit assignments and adherence to post editorial calendars for commerce production cycles
  • Project and media management within the established post-production workflow
  • Review and Quality Control of commerce content in the post-production pipeline
  • Communication with key stakeholders on project status and delivery expectations
  • Export, compress, traffic, and optimize deliverables
  • Backup projects, media, and master files to media server
  • Adhere to media management process and post-production workflow
  • Have a commitment to Comoto’s Core Values 

Qualifications

Our Next Assistant Video Editor Has:

  • Technical Skills
    • Minimum 2 years professional video editing experience 
    • Proficient in Adobe Premiere and/or Final Cut Pro
    • Workable knowledge of Adobe Media Encoder and/or Compressor
    • Basic hardware and software troubleshooting experience
  • Outstanding attention to detail and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and a proactive work ethic
  • Ability to interact and work in a fast-paced, team driven environment
  • Ability to work a schedule outside of normal business hours when needed to meet project deadlines
  • Experience editing long and short form videos
  • Experience with building original motion graphics and/or enhancing templates for assets such as lower-thirds, slates, image animations, and transitions
  • Base knowledge of production environments and equipment
  • Quality control experience
