Marketing Video Editor

Cloud Imperium is looking for an experienced video editor with a passion for storytelling to join the Global Video Production (GVP) team. You will craft a wide range of content, from marketing promotions to gameplay trailers and bespoke social content. The ideal candidate has a strong creative vision to craft videos that inspire fans in the Star Citizen community.

We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. What does a Trailer Video Editor at CIG do?

• Collaborating with brand teams and creative leads to conceptualizing and creating engaging content.
• Work closely with creative director, writers, gameplay capture artists and producers, providing professional expertise to ensure cohesive storytelling to elevate the overall production value.
• Break down and implement creative notes from stakeholder teams.
• Develop and maintain effective strategies to support creative needs from cross-functional teams.

What do we expect from our Video Editors?

• A good amount of industry experience as a video editor for Advertising, Entertainment or Gaming industries with a portfolio of work that showcases excellence in dynamic, creative storytelling.
• Exceptional proficiency with Adobe Premiere editing software. Experience with After Effects and motion graphics.
• Deep understanding of the post-production pipeline: Offline, online & conform, image stabilization, grain removal/matching, tracking, time/speed morphs, project archiving and mixing.
• Demonstrate awareness of industry trends and technological advancements in video editing, contributing to the implementation of best practices for quality standards.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

This role will report to the Director, Video Production (Marketing/GVP) and work collaboratively with the creative video production team, editorial, gameplay capture artists, marketing producers, community team, department leads and various internal stakeholders at Cloud Imperium.
