As part of PBS Utah’s multi-media Production Department, we are seeking a digitally-savvy and technically-creative Video Editor to edit a range of content, from show teases and short-form stories to marketing social media shorts, digital series, and broadcast documentaries. The Video Editor is highly experienced with all phases of post-production including cutting-edge editing techniques, color correction, titling, finishing, packaging, and exporting.

Responsibilities
  • Adobe Premiere Suite editor utilizing a variety of raw footage and other assets to create highly-engaging, audience-centric content specific to YouTube, social media, and broadcast.
  • Color grading and color correction.
  • Knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, titling, and closed or open captions.
  • Experience with a variety of file exports utilizing the appropriate video format and audio format mapping for broadcast, social, and digital platforms.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Film or a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); two years of demonstrated professional experience in the operation of digital/non-linear editing systems (Adobe Suite); experience with graphics/VFX software; familiarity with CODECs and compression basics and related software; familiarity with all aspects of television video and audio production including field and studio applications is preferred.

Preferences
  • Experience with editing platform-specific content and how each platform [YouTube, Instagram, Broadcast] has different editing requirements.
  • Experience with editing marketing and social media videos preferred.
  • Experience with broadcast standards, FCC standards, and YouTube preferred.
  • Experience with livestreaming preferred.
  • Dependable, organized, high attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated communication skills; ability to build trust and understand various perspectives within their team and the community.
  • Ability to write and speak fluently in a second language is advantageous.
