We specialize in customizing laser machine, training and support solutions for clients interested in engraving applications both for customization and compliance. Position Summary: San Antonio Laser seeks a creative and organized professional to serve as Graphic Designer and Video Editor (“Designer/Editor”). The Designer/Editor will support S.A.L.’s marketing team by creating materials that advance our brand message and digital objectives. S.A.L. is a young and developing organization that has grown in size and scope of work since launching in 2013.

As the marketing team builds in-house capability, we are seeking candidates who value collaboration, creative solutions, and teamwork. This position will collaorate and share energy with many other departments and for that reason, this position will not be remote but will require being at the office. That said, some duties will be able to be completed remotely and we offer flexible schedules to accomodate people’s preferences and commitments.

This position can be full or part time depending on the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
Design visual content for print and digital applications that is on-brand, reinforces our status and reputation, and is appropriate for our various audiences; ● Design and Draw intricate patterns and designs in various formats for vectorization
● Design and layout of materials for internal communications and engagement with our team;
Design and layout of essential business materials (e.g. business cards, marketing materials, presentations, etc);
Create info-graphics and presentation materials to simplify communication of complex concepts and data;
Edit video clips for use on social media platforms and marketing objectives;
Create short videos to highlight, recap, and promote various endeavors and events;
● Work autonomously and develop high-quality concepts with minimal instruction;
Manage timelines and prioritization of workload, and know when to ask for direction;
● Assist team in developing and executing communications plans;
● Provide technical support for design- and video-related efforts;
Optimize graphics and video content for social media platforms;
● Maintain organized content files, and help to organize and archive existing video and graphics files;
● Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, graphic design, or related field, or demonstrated success in relevant professional fields;
  • Minimum 3 years related professional experience in a production environment;
  • Strong visual communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts and data through images;
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills and positive disposition;
  • Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (mainly InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, and Photoshop), Microsoft Office, DropBox, and G Suite;
  • Familiarity with best practices for graphics and video content on social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, Instagram);
  • Technically proficient with the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues;
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines;
  • Flexibility in working with new issues, topics, and approaches.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in constitutional history and comfortable around firearms;
  • WordPress or similar CMS experience;
  • Project management;
  • Data visualization;
  • Constant Contact or similar;
  • HTML.

Reports To: Director of Marketing

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship

Pay: $14.00 – $18.00 per hour
