Video Editor

Position Overview

Video and motion picture editors are responsible for assembling and cutting raw footage into a logical and aesthetic sequence, either for movies, television series, or domestic purposes. This role requires a creative individual with proficiency in video editing software, attention to detail, and a keen eye for storytelling.

Job Description

1. Pre-production:

• Plans the idea and concept (storyline, storyboard, script).
• Obtains approval for the idea and concept.
• Collaborates with the marketing team: I) Social Media, II) Content Writer, III) Creative Team, IV).
• Schedules production timeline for well-organized workflows to meet deadlines.

2. Production:

• Captures and records footage, moments, and content (in image and video format).
• Collaborates on materials with the creative team (videographer and graphic designer).
• Trims footage segments and assembles the sequence of the film.
• Inputs music, dialogues, graphics, and effects.
• Creates rough and final cuts.
• Ensures logical sequencing and smooth running.

3. Post-production:

• Consults with stakeholders for the post-production process.
• Liaises with social media before posting content.
• Ensures brand consistency and follows brand guidelines.
• Saves posted videos for the future: I) Offline (hard drive), II) Online (YouTube), III) Is familiar with using editing software. Editing Software: I) Mobile App Video Editing, II) Adobe Premiere Pro – video editing (PC).
• Broadcast Software: I) Zoom, II) Streamyard.

Requirements:

• Tertiary education with/or at least 1-2 year working experience in related field.
• Proven experience as a video editor, with a portfolio of previous work.
• Strong creative and storytelling skills.
• Additional Skills: Knows how to take photos and videos with cameras and smartphones.

Job Type: Full-time
