Duties:
– Work closely with the marketing department to help create unique online content.
Edit raw footage into high-quality videos for streaming and television, ensuring smooth transitions, proper pacing, and visual coherence
– Generates original ideas, identifies suitable ideas from others, and carries out thorough research.
– Edit and assemble recorded footage from YouTube into a finished project that matches the vision of the station and capitalizes on newsworthy sports content.
– Collaborate with the Program Director to determine the relevance of identified content
– Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the video including transitions, titles and SEO.
– Utilize video editing software such as Adobe Premiere and Final Cut to create engaging and visually appealing videos
– Enhance videos with special effects, graphics, and animations using Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator
– Ensure that the final product meets the client’s specifications and brand guidelines
– Manage and organize video files
– Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in video editing techniques
Experience and Skills:
– Proven 1-3 years of experience managing social media accounts with a large audience including SEO – YouTube, Twitter, Podcast platform
– Strong sports news judgment and excellent writing and copy-editing skills, preferably an athlete or coach but not required
– Strong knowledge of video editing techniques and software
– Familiarity with various video formats and codecs
– Solid understanding of visual storytelling principles
– Ability to work independently or as part of a team
– Excellent organizational and time management skills
– Attention to detail and precision in editing
– Ability to multitask, balance priorities and thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment
– Knowledge of typography and graphic design principles is a plus
– Should be proficient in Adobe Audition, Premier and Photoshop or similar editing software
– Must have a positive attitude and be able to work within a team environment
