Experienced Mascot Performer / Actor (4’ 10” – 5’ 3” in height)

Idea Resource Systems, a marketing agency / event and program developer is currently seeking professional mascot actors to provide support to a Japanese Anime/Game producer/distributor’s exhibition for the upcoming Demon Slayer movie Premiere Event, held at Regal Union Square on Saturday, February 10, 2024. The positions assist with the logistical/operational aspects of this exhibition promoting popular Japanese Anime/Game titles as a section leader.

Previous costume/mascot performing experience is required. Qualified candidates over 18 years of age who is between 4’ 10” and 5’ 3” in height, Small or Medium size and looking for additional income and fun is welcome to apply for these exciting positions to work with a leading exhibitor in the Anime, Manga, and Game industries in the world.

Shift 1: 10:00am – 7:00pm
Shift 2: 10:00am – 11:00pm

[COMPENSATION]
Costume/mascot performer $35 per hour
Consume handler (backup actor) $30 per hour

[POSITION SUMMARY]
The costume character will serve as one of the popular anime characters, entertain guests, and perform on a stage and/or stroll on the floor to entertain the guests.

[JOB DUTIES]

• Perform as a character in a costume.
• Provides entertainment, amusement, and interactive activities for guests by taking every opportunity to interact with guests throughout the park. Exceeds guest service expectation.
• Acts as a costume character escort, becoming the eyes, ears and voice of the character and building the relationship between character and guest.
• Controls crowds and interacts with guests in a supported role.
• Maintain costumes including general cleaning and daily maintenance.
• Maintain and clean work areas.
• Ensure the safety of characters, guest, and animals.
• Informs Lead or Supervisor of any problems, concerns or delays that may occur.
• Other duties as requested.

[MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS]

• Due to scale demands of costume, applicant size must fit the dimensions of the costume, including being between 4’ 10” and 5’ 3” in height and size small or medium.
• Prior experience in costume character performance, dance, improv, or acting are required.
• Ability to move in and withstand wearing hot and heavy costume for up to 40 minutes at a time is necessary. Demonstrated enthusiasm and creativity.
• Prior public speaking experience preferred.
• Requires the ability to skillfully and effectively communicate solely through action.
• Timeliness, thoroughness and the ability to adapt to situational changes is required. Dance and/or movement training is preferred.
• Working in extreme heat, wetness, humidity and temperature change.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

[WOKING CONDITIONS]

Work is performed primarily indoors in all weather conditions. Lighting is both natural and artificial. Physical demands include standing, walking, and supporting the weight of a heavy costume. Equipment used includes character costumes, radios, microphones and cleaning tools.
