Film crew (can handle camera op, lights, and sound) for smaller corporate video shoots in Phoenix. $35/hr.
Hey, all. I need a couple of experienced hands to help out with on-location shoots. I film promotional videos for small businesses, medical/dental practices, and occasionally sports teams, artists, and churches—just one to two shoots a month. I am looking for a reliable, friendly, honest, and responsive professional to help regularly.
You must already be living in Phoenix.
If you’re just looking for a quick gig to pay the bills while you’re in-between FT jobs, please DO NOT apply. I appreciate being in that position, but I want to avoid working with a new videographer on every project, so I am just considering videographers who have a stable employment situation and are just looking to work with someone long-term a couple of times a month.
I mostly film on Friday and Saturday mornings. The shoots are small, in the Phoenix Metro area (often in the East Valley), and they typically last 4-6 hours. Dress is professional but comfortable.
I need someone who has considerable knowledge of lighting, framing, Canon DSLR and BMPCC camera operation, setting up interviews, getting bRoll coverage, and handling gear. This is not a learn-as-you-go environment. I am always available to help answer questions, but this is not a position for newbies or photographers. I’ll rely on you to set up your camera quickly, frame the shot right, perform a smooth camera movement (if applicable), and get a shot that can be used in post. I am looking for someone open to direction, but they often don’t need it on set (they know what needs to be done).
Because there will only be two of us, there’s always something to do on set. Shoots are busy and you need to stay focused and be able to safely and carefully lift/move gear (Cstands, lights, etc.) throughout the shoot.
Everyone is respected, appreciated, and has a chance to speak into the project and creative direction. I also try to keep things fun and make sure everyone enjoys themselves (no egos).
If we find that there might be a match (I can’t promise we will be, but we’ll see), I’ll circle back to you, and we’ll set up a phone or Zoom call and talk about some specifics. Thanks for looking. Best wishes.
