Director of Photography and Video Editor

We’re looking for a skilled Videographer with professional video editing skills that can shoot videos, edit the videos and colour grade. After showing a rough draft to stakeholders, they’ll be responsible for implementing project notes. The finished product will represent the best of the company and the candidate’s skill.

This position will be remote but may require to be in studio and on-set, when needed.

Responsibilities

• Filming video on set and on location
• Working with creative teams and clients to plan video shoots
• Setting up and taking down cameras, microphones, lighting, props and other equipment
• Editing footage after recording
• Adding computer graphics, closed captioning and special effects to footage
• Ensure videos meet the team’s specifications and guidelines
• Implement creative notes and feedback
• Evaluate projects for brand authenticity

Skills and qualifications

• Camera Operation
• Strong familiarity with video editing software, preferably Davinci Resolve
• Attention to detail
• Ability to pick out attention-grabbing shots
• Excellent storytelling skills
• Knowledge of basic editing principles
• Colour Grading, Audio Clean-up and Visual Effects skills
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to work with multi-track split audio
• Knowledge of aspect ratios
• Experience with high-resolution file transfer applications
• Understanding of video encoding formats
• Talent for sound design
• Multitasking skills for working with many crew members at once
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clients and members of the production team
• Knowledge of post-production techniques

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: R7,000.00 – R10,000.00 per month
