TikTok Video Editor – Part Time

With a strong online presence and a commitment to innovation, we are seeking a talented TikTok Video Editor to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a key role in shaping and enhancing our brand through engaging video content on our TikTok channel, @PopfunkOfficial.

First requirement: Must be either on TikTok or have proof of example TikTok video’s you’ve made and edited. Please share your TikTok profile and URL if you have one and are willing to share!

Responsibilities:

TikTok Style Video Editing:

• Edit compelling, engaging, and visually stunning short-form videos.
• Know when and how to use the right tunes, trending sounds, & songs, as well as text overlays and other TikTok-native visual effects, filters and voices.
• Recognize trending TikTok video formats and styles.
• Edit and optimize video content for maximum engagement and reach, dwell time & completion time.
• Show experience of how you stay up to date with TikTok trends and implement creative ideas to keep our content fresh and relevant.

Team Collaboration:

• Generate enough edited content to post 2-3 TikTok videos per day from a library of existing content and new footage as it comes in from our production team.
• Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to enhance the skills and creativity of the team as the editing team grows.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure video content aligns with overall brand strategy.
• Reports to and collaborates with our Sr. Video Content Strategist to create organic viral video content.

Content Strategy:

• Contribute to the development of a cohesive content strategy for the TikTok channel.
• Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to align video content with broader marketing initiatives.
• Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly to achieve goals.

Project Management:

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and the quality of work exceeds expectations.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners as needed for collaborative projects.

Technical Proficiency:

• Have ability to edit with TikTok’s native video editor, as well as CapCut, and understand trending editing styles and video formats.
• Understand livestreaming capabilities of TikTok.
• Stay current with video editing software, tools, and industry trends.
• Ensure all video content meets technical specifications and quality standards.

Other Requirements:

• 6+ months of proven experience in TikTok video editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative and engaging content. Experience with editing short form social media content (IG reels, YT Shorts, TikToks) is a necessity.
• Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent, as well as CapCut /TikTok-native capabilities.
• Proficient in organization and storage of video and audio assets.
• Familiarity with TikTok’s platform and trends, and its native video editing capabilities.
• Strong understanding of social media and content marketing strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid remote and in-office environment.
• Experience leading or managing a team of video editors is a plus, but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
