Avid Video Editor

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Avid Video editor. The project will run approximately 5-8 weeks and could potentially lead to regular work .

You must have experience with Avid Media Composer and willing to work on location 5-days a week in Parsippany NJ.

Responsibilities:
– Edit and assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director’s vision
– Collaborate with the creative team to determine the sequence and arrangement of shots
– Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
– Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects to enhance the production value
– Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of the final product
– Review and edit raw footage to create a cohesive story
– Experiment with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements
– Ensure all editing deadlines are met

Requirements:
– Proven work experience as a Video Editor or similar role
– Strong knowledge of video editing techniques and software
– Familiarity with various video formats and codecs
– Solid understanding of visual storytelling principles
– Ability to work independently or as part of a team
– Excellent organizational and time management skills
– Attention to detail and precision in editing
– Knowledge of typography and graphic design principles is a plus
– Familiarity with content management systems is a plus

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $40.00 – $47.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 – 45 per week
